He had an immense contribution in putting Indian sports on the world stage. The origin of his iconic title goes long back to the international athletic event of 1960, held in Pakistan. 1958 was an important year in his career. He had qualified for the Asian Games held in Tokyo. There, he met Abdul Khaliq for the first time. Abdul was popularly known as Asia’s fastest athlete. Abdul had won the 100 metre race while Milkha had won the 400 metre race. It was time for both of them to compete for the 200 metre race. Orwellian universe of Nineteen Eighty Four and today’s world.

Nineteen Eighty Four is a classic dystopian fiction as well as a satire written by George Orwell, published in 1949. The novel has been adapted in a number of plays, television shows, films and speeches. It is the story of Winston Smith, a bureaucrat who lives in Oceania where people are constantly under the surveillance of the government. He works in a ‘Ministry of Truth’ where facts are moulded and the past doctored. What was real and what was not was decided by the ‘Ministry of truth’. The universe created by Orwell had posters of Oceania's Dictator, called lovingly enough, The Big Brother. The posters bearing the infamous quote ‘Big Brother Is Watching You’ was a constant reminder of surveillance. ‘Telescreens’ that display news propaganda and were also used to monitor the people. 'The Lunchbox' for our movie appetite

If you are looking for a n unusually beautiful heart-touching story, here is a movie recommendation for you! The Lunchbox released in 2013, written and directed by Ritesh Batra starring Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles. It has a simple yet an interesting storyline. Nimrat Kaur plays the character of Ila Sehgal, a young mother and a housewife. The lunchbox sent by Ila for her husband is accidentally delivered at the office desk of Saajan Fernades, played by Irrfan Khan. Saajan is a widower, and is on the verge of his retirement. They both exchange letters through the lunchbox and that is what the story revolves around. They gradually grow a bond and in the process of writing letters they rediscover themselves, sharing their memories and experiences.
